After a gourmet feast, drinks that flowed and desserts that were relished on, the last thing you want to do is wash everything by hand. True, Americans might be a bit spoiled when it comes to dishwashers, but nowadays it’s a necessity—not a luxury. Time is precious, and it shouldn’t be wasted perfecting your dishpan hands. When dishwashers aren’t working correctly, they can leave lingering food particles behind and even be a fire risk. If it’s not doing its job, you’re having to pick up the slack while still paying for those halfhearted attempts at a dish load. Best Home Appliance will whip your dishwasher back into shape so it can take on those dirty pots and pans.

  • Water Temperature For your dishwasher to clean your dishes properly, your water temperature must be at least 120 degrees. It is recommended you run your hot water for about a minute before running your dishwasher so it fills with hot water right off the bat.
  • Left Over Food – Many of the repairs we do on dishwashers are due to clogs from food left on dishes. You should always scrape off your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. This will help avoid costly repairs to your appliance.
  • Dish Detergents – Most manufacturers recommend using a high quality dish soap and rinse aid in order to prolong the life of your dishwasher. Pods are a good choice. They prevent mess, and clean well.
  • Overloading – If you overload your dishwasher, similar to overloading a washer, your dishes will not become clean enough due to inadequate water dispersion. Make sure to properly use the dishwasher rack separators so your dishwasher can clean to the maximum ability.
  • Dropping Utensils –There is usually an element inside your dishwasher at the bottom. If plastic utensils drop on this element, they will melt, causing them to get ruined. More importantly though, it could damage the element. Make sure your utensils are properly secure when running your dishwasher.
